Upon joining the company, Hideo Umetani undertook development of network appliances at the Digital Network Development Center. Subsequently, he worked on research involving the application of recorder log analysis and clustering technology at the Cloud Solutions Development Center. Currently, he is engaged in development of systems using AI.

His areas of specialty are machine learning, data analysis, and system design.
